Caparison Mattius”IA”Eklundh Sig. Apple Horn (Sand StoneⅡ), - $2750 - Sold!!

Filed Under (*Signature*, caparison, x- SOLD -x) by Importstrings on 21-06-2010

New Condition

Importstrings have a 2009 Apple Horn in mint/new playing condition. This is the Sig model from yet another Swedish “shred meister” (It must be those long dark Winters or something in the beer?) This belongs to Mattius Eklundh who fronts the band Freak Kitchen, among many other side projects EG. Solo albums, guest guitarist, guitar clinics, etc…spreading the good word about Caparison.

The Apple Horn is based on the Horus but, with a few tweeks here and there, to suit Mattius’s off the wall style of playing. The noticeable difference is the unique FD finish, which is used on a few other Caparison models. It’s almost like a hard plastic/carbon looking material encasing the body, giving exellent mid-lower range sound. The Apple Horn logo is not just there for looks either, its engraved bang, smack in the middle of the body, designed to give extra resonance.

This colour variation ran from 2007~2009. Caparison DO NOT have a large production rate (everythings hands on) so there is not a great deal of these. Like the Horus, a very powerful sounding guitar, thats got crystal clear, clean tones. What a Metal guitar should sound like!!

Caparison Horus Scarab/GO, - $2750 - Sold!!

New Conditon

One company more Australians should open their minds about is Caparison. Caparison’s Horus series are a powerful sounding guitar with heeps of tone, clarity, craftmanship, looks and more importantly AFFORDABLE!!. The co-founder of Caparison (Itaru Kanno) has refined his designs from his Charvel/Jackson days. He created many high quality Charvel/Jackson models during the time of the Toothpaste and Jackson Pro period model.

When Itaru left Charvel/Jackson and started Caparison he took what were already great designs and improved on them (His vision of what they were suppose to be). The Horus , a Itaru Kanno/Chacha Maru inspired collaboration was based on the Jackson Falcon, an awesome yet short lived model (These are very hard to find these days!). Another popular Caparison, the Angelus series, again an upgraded Charvel Quester.(Really good quality for $$ guitars).

The paint work on the Horus/TATs you might also recognize from yet another Itaru design? YUP! The Doug Aldrich model. Like all artists this is Itaru’s signature colour scheme (That spongy effect). From his past experience he now has his flagship model, “so to speak”…. “THE HORUS”.

The Horus plugged in, only has one gear, Hard Rock/Metal, it was built for this!!(Maybe not a good idea to buy a Horus and be playing the likes of, the Beatles or say, LOL Duran Duran!!). The Caparison original pick-ups scream and can be seen and used stock by many of Metal’s guitarist of today. For those who own one, you can’t shut them up!, So I better stop before this gets to long!
In short if your into Metal give’em ago!!. Caparison are rapidly becoming popular so HOPEFULLY we might see more trickle into Australia, giving the guitarist a chance to try one. At Importstrings we ALWAYS have them available, so don’t hesitate to ask!!

Caparison Angelus22 Vintage Sunburst $2500.00 - SOLD!

New condition

For a start Caparison are relatively new on the scene as far as guitar companies go, they opened doors in 1995 and the first production models came out in 1996.They have some innovative ideas and a guitar designer who has been around the block a few times. Itaru Kanno is a very experienced guitar designer, he was involved with Jackson in the early days when Grover Jackson opened up shop in Japan. Now we all know those very high quality Jackson Pro. models that cut deep into the American market(but that’s another story) Itaru Kanno was also responsible for quite a few Jackson designs, the Grover Jackson Doug Aldrich and Phil Collens models included. When the contract between Jackson and Kyowa-Shokai expired in 1993(yet another fascinating story)Kyowa-Shokai and Itaru Kanno extended their partnership to bring about Caparison. At present Caparison are starting to turn alot of heads worldwide and are gaining a steady flow of endorsees, the likes of Dennis Stratton, Stevie Salas, Juan Croucier and bands like Killswitch Engage, Symphony X and Arch Enemy.

Production is on a small scale estimated to be between 30~50 guitars a month, the craftmanship is on par with the BEST and are very high quality for dollar guitars. Apart from their more known designs Horus, TAT’s and Dellingers there’s the Angelus series, a more traditional looking ROCKER. Now I know what your thinking, Ahhh another Les Paul type thing? Well this ones got an ace up its sleeve! When the 3 way selector is in the middle position, it engages the 4 way rotary switch, splitting and combining the pick-ups for an amazing array of sounds, not found to this extent in any popular brand we know of.(more info. from Caparison). This is where Caparison and the innovative Itaru Kanno differ from the rest. With such an array of sounds the Angelus22 stretches all but few music styles, Rock, Blues, Jazz we had no problems getting these sounds and with more experimentation even more. The Angelus22 has a very grown up, comfortable, sturdy feeling, the Caparison BH3-n and BH3-b pickups with the Mahogany have a warm, rich sound and this has looooonng sustain. The Angelus is in “MINT” condition, setup and ready to go!!! We will definitely be getting more Caparisons in the future!!!
