Charvel Model-6 $1300.00 - SOLD!

Fantastic quality

In 1986 Grover Jackson decided to move a lot of production to Japan, Grover himself spent countless months and many trips making sure the quality was first grade. What came out of the Chushin Gakki factory were the famous “Model Series” produced from 1986-88 followed by the “Toothpaste Series”(called this because of the more modern logo). The model and toothpaste series were built to very high standards, in particular the model 4 through to model 6 are considered to be the finest instruments ever produced by Charvel. This laid down the blue-prints for the more famous Jackson soloist. The model 5 and 6 were neck through designed, active circuitry, the famous concord head, with a double expanding neck rod giving faster accurate neck adjustments. The model 4-6 are still today very sought after, and when plugged in you will definitely know why, they really do pack a punch giving today’s more advanced up market brands a run for their money. These are amazing guitars from an amazing era. In 1989 Grover sold the company to AMIC and the brand fell from favour in the mid 90’s due to changes in music fashion and a drop in quality. Today Charvel is owned by Fender and in the past few years have seen the re-emergence of the late, great ,hot-rodded “San Dimas” models. Today’s Japanese models are also top class.

Additional Fact : The model series are also known for their Fort Worth Texas neck plate, this was the address of AMIC at the time.(They were NOT made in the U.S.A). The U.S.A models had
San Dimas California, and later on, Ontario California on their neck plates. In no way are the Charvel’s produced from 86-91 in any way inferior products to the U.S.A models!!!

Filed Under (*Signature*, Ibanez, x- SOLD -x) by Importstrings on 23-07-2008

New condition

Importstrings have another Jem up for grabs and no need to go on about who plays this! This is a discontinued Jem77BRMR produced from 2005~2006 dubbed the “BAD HORSIE”. The playability is what you would expect (watching what Mr. Vai does with it). This has one smooth Sound, unlike the Jem7V the Jem77BRMR comes with Di Marzio’s Breed pick-ups and personally sounds a bit more heavier, more grunt in the bottom end. As for the appearance, want to get noticed? No problems they will see you coming a mile off.

This particular Jem is very rare has ONLY been played for about 20 minutes in total since purchased. How do we know? This is one of Importstrings overseas staff, off loading one of his many Jem’s. This bad axe had been purchased as part of a collection, as the pics shown still have the plastic on the scratch plate. There is not one blemish or even a smear on this guitar, it’s in very rare new condition and at this price is a bonafide steal!!!

This is the finest guitar that Ibanez produce. The RG8470 is the top model in the J Custom line. For years the J Custom were ONLY available for the Japanese market but, some have trickled out of the country mostly snapped up by collectors of these fine instruments. They are absolutely one of the most beautiful guitars to look upon and, they sound amazing. Di Marzio’s Air Norton, Blue Velvert and Tone Zone combination give you such versatile sounds and great sustain. The playability as in all J Customs is WOW! The first time you plug in you can hear the quality, the quality of woods, electrics and the feel, so smooth and comfortable. These guitars would have to please the most fussiest guitarist.
